This company is so responsive that I love them. They respond immediately, and I trust them to tell me what needs to be done. I haven’t been steered wrong yet. They are genuinely nice to work with and honest. I use their maintenance program which I highly recommend.

0 stars if I could. Bought a faulty (not to mention overpriced) surface igniter, called back five minutes later after installing, of course they didn’t stand behind their part. Go to Grainger instead. Same (working) part, half the price.

I will always call Hoffmans for my air and heat needs. They were out to my daughters house that day and fixed it. It was right before the weekend storm with below zero temps the next day. They saved my daughter and grandbabies. I could never thank them more.

Snow and drifting snow covered intake and out take vents causing the furnace emergency to shut off furnace. Cleaned off the driftibg/ snow off roof and vents furnace works perfect now. Thank you and great job Nick.

Got a quote over the phone. Everything was explained thoroughly. Dakota, my technician arrived and on time, was very professional and knowledgeable. He didn’t try to upsell or change anything. He did a great job. We can already tell the difference since the ducts and vents were cleaned. Would recommend an use Hoffman again in the future.

woke up to a very cold house, called Thomas Hoffmann, they were able to come out a couple of hours later and get the issue resolved. Your Filters Need to Be Changed
One common cause of HVAC heat not working is dirty air filters. Over time, filters can become clogged with debris, which can limit airflow and cause the HVAC system to work harder than it should. If you notice that your thermostat is struggling to maintain the desired temperature or your HVAC system is constantly turning on and off, checking and cleaning your filters should be the first step.
The Thermostat Isn’t Working
Another potential culprit for HVAC heat not working is a malfunctioning thermostat. If you are constantly messing with the thermostat and can’t get the room to the temperature you want, then you might want to consider that it isn’t an HVAC system issue at all. It might just be that your thermostat isn’t working correctly – or at all. Try replacing the batteries first to make sure that it has full power. Next, check to make sure that there isn’t an excessive amount of dirt and debris on or around it. If you can’t get it to work, replace it with an HVAC specialist.
The Pilot Has Gone Out
If you can’t get your heat to work, then the first place to research is to ensure that the pilot light hasn’t gone out. The pilot light should have an electronic ignition that you can see under the panel. If you don’t see a small flame lit, then it is likely that your pilot light has gone out and needs to be lit. If you light it and it goes out again, however, it is time to call a technician to figure out the problem. Since it is highly flammable, make sure you know what you are doing to ensure you don’t get hurt. Never take chances with gas lines – it is better just to call and have someone take a look than to risk injury.

If you have tried all of the above, and your HVAC heat still isn’t working, it’s likely time to call a professional to diagnose and repair the problem. Trying to fix the issue yourself can be dangerous, especially if your system uses gas, so it’s best to leave it to the experts.
